Most Croatian charter contracts are concluded with a local operator, frequently through a foreign agency or booking platform. Payment is due before boarding, and a security deposit of typically 1,500 to 5,000 euro is held in cash or blocked on a credit card at handover.
The two mechanisms that generate the largest number of complaints are the security deposit and the damage protocol. Where handover and return are not documented in writing and with photographs, the charterer has almost no way to contest a later deduction.
